Doublespeak Detox

Strip the gloss. Say what you mean. Watch trust go up.

"We care about customers." But reply macam robot. Customers are not stupid. They will test you.

What this is

Corporate fog kills trust. This workshop detoxes your copy, your captions and your crisis statements. Learn to recognise doublespeak, why it backfires, and how to write with clarity that sounds like control.

What you will be able to do

Modules

  1. "We care about customers." Then why reply like a robot?. The gap between what brands claim and how they actually sound. You learn why customers test every claim, and why corporate fog is the fastest way to fail that test in public.
  2. The six kinds of doublespeak hiding in your copy. Euphemism, jargon, gobbledygook, inflated language, weasel words and the non-apology. How to recognise each one in captions, announcements and replies, using Malaysian examples you will recognise immediately.
  3. Fog backfires. Here is the exact moment it happens.. The mismatch moment: when the language says one thing and the experience says another. You learn how vague wording turns a small service problem into a much bigger credibility problem.
  4. The statement that says nothing, and gets punished for it. A teardown of the corporate statement formula: regret, inconvenience, ongoing review. Why it inflames people, and what a clear, accountable statement looks like instead, written live for a scenario from your industry.
  5. Clarity sounds like control. Why plain language reads as confidence. The working rules: short sentences, active voice, named owners, concrete numbers. You learn to say difficult things without hiding behind the wording.
  6. Write your brand's banned-words list. Build the list of words and phrases your brand will never use again, with the plain replacement for each one. A practical tool your whole team can start applying the same afternoon.
  7. Rewrite lab: bring your worst copy. Bring your captions, product pages, emails or announcements. We rewrite them live, line by line, so you see the method applied to your own words instead of somebody else's examples.
  8. Price increases, delays, mistakes: say it straight. Practise the messages most brands fog up: price increases, delays, errors and refusals. You leave with templates that tell the truth without sounding defensive, apologetic or cold.
