MVB Before MVP

What do you build first? Not the product. The brand.

A product without a brand is a commodity waiting to be undercut.

What this is

The Minimum Viable Brand in twelve short lessons. Before the logo, before the website, before the first post. Define the belief, the territory and the voice so everything you build afterwards has a reason to exist.

What you will be able to do

Modules

  1. Why MVB comes first. Products can be copied and prices undercut, so the brand has to be decided before the product launches. 3 lessons.
  2. The customer you choose. Choose the customer you are built for, the problem they actually pay to solve and the moment they decide to buy. 3 lessons.
  3. The belief. Define what you want people to believe, the lie you stand against and the promise that proves you mean it. 3 lessons.
  4. The territory. Decide where you win, where you refuse to play and which position you will hold even when it costs you. 3 lessons.
  5. The voice. Sound like a real person, and hold your persona, voice and language steady while only the tone flexes. 2 lessons.
  6. The proof. Make your promise believable before a stranger ever talks to you, with proof they can check and trust you earn yourself. 3 lessons.
  7. Launch the MVB. Assemble and test your one-page MVB, install it over 90 days and refuse to build anything the brand has not earned yet. 3 lessons.
